The Medical Protocol of a Retrieval and Transfer

A few days out from the start of our 3rd egg retrieval, I'm starting to mentally prepare for the medical protocol involved. If you had told me 5 years ago, I'd be self-injecting needles for weeks at a time for years, I would never have believed it. It's amazing the strength you can find when you truly want something and refuse to give up. And when you have support like Scott, who without question or hesitation took on the task of administering intramuscular injections pre-transfers when there was no way I was self-injecting picture 2. Now that my transfer days are over, Scott is still there with every needle to help me prepare the syringe and talk me
through it.The needles were daunting at the beginning, but now they hardly phase us. I can't say the same about the actual retrieval, which, no matter how much of the good stuff they give me, is beyond uncomfortable. But maybe this time will be easier! Even if it isn't, one thing is for sure, it will all be worth it.
